Deoghar: Deoghar Municipal Corporation Mayor Ravi Kumar Raut conducted a surprise inspection of the Jasidih area on Friday and took stock of sanitation, street lighting and drinking water arrangements.
During the inspection, the Mayor visited the main market roads and nearby localities, where he found garbage piled up at several spots and drains in poor condition. Expressing dissatisfaction over the situation, he directed sanitation officials to ensure regular cleaning and timely disposal of waste. He also warned that negligence in duty would not be tolerated and strict action would be taken against erring employees.
The Mayor also reviewed the condition of street lights in the area. Several lights were found non-functional, following which officials of the electricity department were instructed to carry out immediate repairs to restore proper lighting on roads and public areas.
He further inspected the drinking water supply system and pipeline network in Jasidih. Officials were asked to make sure that every household receives clean drinking water without disruption and to extend pipeline connections to uncovered areas at the earliest.
Addressing officials during the visit, Mayor Ravi Kumar Raut said the Municipal Corporation is committed to improving basic civic facilities in Deoghar and Jasidih. He stressed that cleanliness, water supply and electricity services are essential for residents and that there would be no compromise in maintaining these facilities.
Among those present during the inspection were Municipal Manager Satish Das, local representative Sandeep Vishwakarma, councillor representative Rajan Singh, Mrityunjay Raut, along with traders and local residents.
