Supreme Court directs Jharkhand government to appoint successful candidates as District Judge

Ranchi: Hearing was held in the Supreme Court on Thursday on a petition filed demanding investigation into irregularities in the results of the District Judge Recruitment Examination.

During this, the court directed the state government and Jharkhand High Court to appoint successful candidates.

During the arguments, it was told by the counsel for the applicants that they have been successful in the main examination and interview.

Despite this, successful candidates are not being appointed.

Actually, Jharkhand District Judge Recruitment Examination was taken in two phases.

The written examination was held on 4 September 2022 in Ranchi, in which approximately 2000 candidates appeared.

In this examination, 66 candidates were declared successful by the Jharkhand High Court on 14 February 2023.

Candidates who were successful in the interview Sushil Kumar Pandey, Rajiv Kumar, Hariom Kumar, Prateek Chaturvedi, Randhir Kumar Singh, Pinky Singh and Ajay Sharma filed a petition in the Supreme Court.

The hearing of which was held in the bench of Supreme Court judges Justice Aniruddha Bose and Justice Sanjay Kumar.
