Subrato Banerjee of Jharkhand makes into team India’s cricket selection committee

Ranchi: The BCCI has announced a new selection committee for Team India. Chetan Sharma has been once again made the chairman of the committee.

In this five-member committee former Ranji player from Jharkhand Subrato Banerjee has been also given a place apart from him Shiv Sundar Das, Salil Ankola and Sridharan Sharat have been included in the new committee.

The officials of the Jharkhand State Cricket Association have also expressed their delight over the selection of Subrato Mukherjee as the selector. The BCCI had on November 18 announced to appoint a new selection committee and after 50 days the committee has been finally announced.

The BCCI said that Sulakshana Naik Ashok Malhotra and Jatin Paranjape led advisory committee has selected the all India senior selection committee for which nearly 600 applications had come out of which 11 were selected and
on the basis of the personal interview of these 11 the Advisory Committee finally selected the names.

Subrato Mukherjee during the 1991-92 Australia tour had played a test match and has also played in 6 one day matches. He was also part of the world cup team of 1992 and has played 59 first-class matches for the state
