State level drawing and essay competitions held on second day of Paryavaran Mela, winners felicitated by Saryu Rai

Ranchi: A State level painting and essay competition was organized on the second day of Environment Fair-2023 organized at Morhabadi ground. The topic of the drawing was ‘The Blue Planet’ and the topic of the essay was ‘Climate Change’.

Students from different districts participated in the competition. The winning students were awarded and felicitated by the chief guest and distinguished guests. On this occasion, Saryu Rai, Patron of Paryavaran Mela said that this type of event gives an opportunity to know and understand about the environment, nature and the surroundings.

It was a great pleasure to see the originality, seriousness and depth of the children’s drawing and essay, he said adding that today’s children are very serious about the environment as compared to his childhood.

He suggested to the organizers of this fair that the excellent quality essays and pictures made by the children in this fair premises should be given a place in their souvenirs, so that today’s young generation along with these children can be inspired by this.

Saryu Rai further said that the present generation is also responsible to some extent for the way the weather is changing irregularly today. After independence, when industries were established in the first and second five-year plan period and smoke came out from the chimneys of the factories, it was considered as an indicator of development and people were happy to see those smoke however they remained completely unaware of the upcoming environmental problems, the consequences of which today’s generation is suffering.

Earlier there were four seasons in India like summer, monsoon, autumn and spring but due to our neglect and carelessness towards the environment, the spring season has come to an end.
