Ranchi: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued an alert for squalls in isolated pockets of Jharkhand in the next 48 hours. The Meteorological Centre predicted strong surface wind blowing at a speed of 50 kmph.
The weather office also issued an alert of lightning in eastern and central parts of Jharkhand in the next 48- hours.
Satellite pictures indicated that the trough from north Bihar to central Chhattisgarh persists extending up to 3.1 km above the mean sea level. Data revealed that light rain with thunderstorms occurred at one or two places over Jharkhand in the past 24- hours.
The highest rainfall recorded was 4.5 mm at Garhwa. The highest maximum temperature of 44.1 degrees was recorded at Daltonganj while the lowest minimum temperature of 23.9 degrees was recorded at Ramgarh.
