Ranchi: The special session of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly is set to begin on December 9, bringing a changed atmosphere in the house. Several prominent figures will be absent this time, and the opposition is expected to raise issues related to CGL and infiltration in the assembly. However, the focus will also be on the 12 female members who will be voicing the concerns of the public.
On the first day of the special session, newly elected legislators will take their oath. On December 10, the Speaker will be selected, followed by the Governor’s address at 11:30 AM on December 11. Afterward, the supplementary budget for the fiscal year 2024-25 will be presented in the house. On December 12, discussions on the Governor’s address, debate, and the government’s response will take place, followed by the vote of confidence.
This time, 12 women lawmakers will represent the people, marking an important moment in the Assembly. The women members include Kalpana Soren, Louis Marandi, Savita Mahto, Nishat Alam, Deepika Padei Singh, Mamta Devi, Shweta Singh, Shilpi Neha Tirkey, Purnima Sahu, Ragini Singh, Manju Kumari, and Neera Yadav.
In addition, 19 new faces will represent their constituencies in the Assembly. Among the first-time legislators are Roshan Lal Chaudhary, Shutradhan Mahto, Pradeep Prasad, Manju Kumari, Kumar Ujjwal, Ragini Singh, Ramsurya Munda, Mohammad Tajuddin, Alok Soren, Sudip Gudiya, Dhananjay Soren, Shweta Singh, Suresh Baitha, Nishat Alam, Naresh Prasad Singh, Chandradev Mahto, Nirmal Mahto, Jairam Mahto, and Purnima Sahu.
