Ranchi: Before the onset of the Winter Session of the Jharkhand Assembly which is slated to commence from December 16 Speaker Ravindranath Mahto chaired an all-party meeting which was abstained by the BJP.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Cabinet minister Satyanand Bhokta, MLA Pradeep Yadav, CPI-ML MLA Vinod Singh and NCP MLA Kamlesh Kumar Singh were also present in the meeting.
In the meeting, the speaker sought the cooperation of all the leaders in running the house properly. In the meeting, a discussion was also held so that representatives from the different parties will be able to speak over the debate on the Supplementary budget and it was suggested that on two days discussion should be held on it. Subsequently, it was decided that after the end of the proceedings on the first working day a meeting of work advisory committee will be held in which the decision will be taken.
Later the speaker chaired a meeting with the senior officials of the state government over the conduct of the winter session during which he directed the chief secretary to make sure that answers of all the questions which are given by the different departments should be clear so that the MLAs are satisfied with the answers.
In the meeting, the speaker also raised the different privileges motions that had been raised by the MLAs over the conduct of different administrative officials. The speaker directed the officials to behave politely and in a proper way with the legislators. He appreciated the online working of the 15 departments which have managed to give 100 percent reply to the Vidhan Sabha Secretariat through the online question-answer system.
Further six departments that failed to make any progress in providing online answers he directed them to speed up their work. In the meeting, discussion was also held over the pending assurances. The day ended with the meeting of the press advisory committee.
