Shibu Soren’s petition rejected by Delhi High Court, CBI can start investigation into disproportionate assets

Ranchi: Delhi High Court has given its verdict in the Lokpal case related to Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) President, former Chief Minister and Rajya Sabha member Shibu Soren. After hearing the full arguments of all the parties involved in this case, the court had reserved its decision on September 22. While giving its verdict, Delhi High Court has rejected Shibu Soren’s petition.

With the dismissal of the petition, the stay on proceedings before the Lokpal against Shibu Soren in the DA (disproportionate assets) case has also been lifted. Shibu Soren has got a big shock due to this decision of Delhi High Court. After the dismissal of the petition from the High Court, now CBI can start investigation in the disproportionate assets case.

Rajya Sabha member Shibu Soren has challenged the preliminary investigation proceedings and order of the CBI on the basis of jurisdiction. Shibu Soren’s petition was heard in the court of Delhi High Court judge Justice Subramaniam Prasad. Senior advocate Kapil Sibal and advocate Pragya Singh Baghel presented the side on behalf of Shibu Soren. SGI (Solicitor General of India) Tushar Mehta has represented the Lokpal.
