Mumbai — Actress Sharvari, who is currently filming in Amritsar, shared a heartwarming glimpse of home on social media after receiving a special Diwali delivery from her mother. Her ‘Aai’ sent her a bag full of traditional Diwali faral — the assortment of festive Maharashtrian snacks prepared during the festival.
Taking to her Instagram stories, the Bunty Aur Babli 2 star posted pictures of a bag brimming with homemade goodies, along with a tiny, hand-crafted paper kandil (lantern). She captioned it, “Aai couriered Diwali faral to me and a baby kandil.”
In another post, Sharvari showcased an array of neatly packed Maharashtrian snacks, captioning it “Diwali faral for breakfast.” The spread included chakli (crispy spirals made from gram flour), shankarpali (sweet fried dough bites), chivda (spiced flattened rice with nuts and raisins), and sev, all staple delicacies of the festival in Maharashtra. The addition of the miniature lantern added a nostalgic touch to the heartfelt gesture.
Earlier, on Dussehra, Sharvari had revealed that she had begun shooting for her upcoming film directed by Imtiaz Ali, co-starring Vedang Raina. Unable to be home for Saraswati Puja, she performed a small ritual in her room with her film script, sharing, “Couldn’t be home for Saraswati Puja today, so I did my own little puja with the script in my room. Happy Dussehra! Vijay Dashmi ki Hardik Shubhkamnai! Starting to shoot a very special film with a very special director and team.”
The film was officially announced in June, coinciding with Sharvari’s birthday. Expressing her gratitude then, she wrote, “What an incredible surprise to see this announcement on my birthday. Best birthday ever! Imtiaz Ali Sir, I’ve manifested being directed by you ever since I dreamed of becoming an actor. It’s an honour to be part of your vision. Thank you for choosing me—this is truly special.”
Sharvari made her Bollywood debut in 2021 with Kabir Khan’s Bunty Aur Babli 2 under the Yash Raj Films banner, co-starring Rani Mukerji, Saif Ali Khan, and Siddhant Chaturvedi. Though the film received mixed reviews, she was praised for her fresh screen presence.
The actress will next be seen in “Alpha”, opposite Alia Bhatt and Bobby Deol.
