Hazaribagh: In a joint operation executed by police teams from three police stations a pickup van carrying illegal liquor into Bihar was seized and seven men were arrested in this connection.
Police today said that Hazaribagh SP had received a tip-off that through a pickup van liquor was being smuggled into Bihar after which police teams from Barkatha, Chouparan and Gorhar swung into action and from Bhusiyatand a pickup van was seized.
Based on the inputs provided by the van driver few others who were escorting the vehicle were nabbed from Barhi Toll Plaza. A total of seven men have been arrested in this connection including five from Bihar and two from Jharkhand.
From the pickup van 144 pieces of beer can and 2625 bottles of country-made liquor, each measuring 300 milliliters has been seized.
