Security forces destroy five Maoist bunkers in Kolhan

Ranchi: In a significant breakthrough in the ongoing anti-Naxal operations, security forces demolished five Maoist bunkers in the forested and hilly areas near Kulburu under Jeraikela police station limits on April 10, 2025. The action was part of a special joint operation launched on March 4, 2025, targeting the dense and remote border regions of Chotanagara and Jeraikela police stations.

The operation was initiated following credible intelligence inputs regarding the presence of top leaders of the banned CPI (Maoist) outfit. Senior Maoist figures including Misir Besra, Anmol, Mochhu, Anal, Aseem Mandal, Ajay Mahato, Sagen Angaria, Ashwin, Pintu Lohra, Chandan Lohra, Amit Hansda alias Upton, Jaykant, and Rapa Munda were reported to be moving through the Saranda and Kolhan forests along with their armed squads, planning disruptive activities in the region.

In response to this intelligence, a massive joint force was mobilized, comprising personnel from Chaibasa District Police, Jharkhand Jaguar, Cobra Battalions 203 and 209, and CRPF Battalions 26, 60, 134, 174, 193, and 197. The forces have been conducting sustained operations in the area, targeting Maoist hideouts and infrastructure.

During the operation on April 10, security personnel successfully located and destroyed five Maoist bunkers, striking a blow to the rebel group’s logistical capabilities. The anti-Naxal campaign continues in full swing, with security forces determined to dismantle the remaining Maoist presence in the region and restore peace in the affected areas.
