Ranchi: Offline classes started in schools of Jharkhand from Friday as following the instructions of the state government all the schools have been opened as per the guidelines. On the first day, only about 50 percent of the students were seen in the schools. However, happiness was seen on the faces of the students present.
The Teachers said that soon the attendance of students will be seen in schools as before as there are many students who have started working to strengthen the financial condition of their homes and efforts will be made to connect them with education again.
Permission has been given to start offline classes from class IX to XII in 7 districts including Ranchi. In the remaining 17 districts, classes from 1st to 12th have started.
In view of the rising cases of Coronavirus, all educational institutions were closed in January 2022. At the same time for almost 2 years, the classes from 1st to 5th were completely stalled. However, after the instructions of the Disaster Management Department from February 4, schools have been opened for children from class 1 to class 12 in 17 districts of the state.
At the same time, schools have been opened for children from 9th to 12th in seven districts including Ranchi.
From Friday, activities of school children were seen in various districts of the state including Ranchi. Taking care of social distancing, entry in schools was allowed after using masks and sanitisation.
According to the order of the Disaster Management Department, attendance in offline classes has been kept optional for schools. Offline class is not mandatory for school attendance, moreover, there is also a ban on mass cultural programmes in schools, children who are reaching the school with permission from their parents, they are being given entry into the schools.
Offline test examinations can also be taken in 17 districts except for Ranchi, East Singhbhum, Deoghar, Chatra, Seraikela, Bokaro and Simdega. From time to time, the Covid test of teachers and students will also be conducted by the district administration in the school campus itself. At the same time, the campus has become buzzing again with the presence of students on the school campus. Students in school uniforms were seen on the streets after several days.
On the first day of the opening of the school, there was a lot of activity in the school premises. However, due to Covid-19, the attendance of students in schools was very less. Teachers said that many students are still not coming to school due to Covid-19 as parents are still scared. It is expected that soon the fear from the minds of the parents will end and students will appear in the schools with 100 percent attendance.
