Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana achieves milestone, empowers 7, 29,632 adolescent girls in eight months

Ranchi: The Savitribai Phule Kishori Samriddhi Yojana launched by Chief Minister Hemant Soren in Giridih in October 2022 in the Aapki Yojana Aapki Sarkar Aapke Dwar program for the daughters of the state is spreading smiles on the faces of the daughters.

On the instructions of the sensitive Chief Minister regarding the scheme, in the financial year 2022-23, 7, 29,632 adolescent girls have been covered under the scheme. These include 691770 girls from eighth to 12th and 37862 girls from 18 to 19 years. 

An amount of more than 405.7 crore has been paid to adolescent girls under the scheme. Nine lakh daughters are to be linked to the scheme in the financial year 2023-24. Maximum of 59024 adolescent girls of Giridih are associated with the scheme. After this, 50954 girls from Ranchi, 50814 from Palamu, 41650 from Bokaro, 41468 from East Singhbhum, 40130 from Hazaribagh and 36870 from Dhanbad were ahead in taking benefits of the scheme.

On the instructions of the Chief Minister, a campaign is being run to connect nine lakh daughters of the state with the scheme, so that all adolescent girls can get the benefit of the scheme. For this, necessary certificates are being issued to the adolescent girls. The Chief Minister has a clear instruction that all eligible daughters who come under the purview of the scheme should be linked to the scheme. Through the Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana, the state government is laying emphasis on girl child education so that they do not miss their studies due to financial constraints. If the daughters are educated then the practice of child marriage will stop and the daughters will also be able to take independent decisions regarding their lives. 

Under the scheme, the state government is trying to connect adolescent girls with education and make them self-reliant. Under the scheme, 2500-2500 is being given to adolescent girls studying in classes VIII and IX. Apart from this, the adolescent girls of 10th, 11th and 12th are getting an amount of 5000-5000 thousand rupees. There is a provision to give Rs 20,000 in a lump sum to daughters in the age group of 18 to 19 years. In this way, adolescent girls are getting a total of Rs 40,000 for their studies.
