Ranchi: A vehicle checking drive was conducted by District Transport Officer Praveen Prakash in Khelgaon in Ranchi on Thursday. Tax defaulters, overloaded, without a permit, pollution proof, without a license, without a helmet, seating more passengers in the vehicle and other documents related to the vehicle were checked by the District Transport Officer.
A total of 137 vehicles were checked during the vehicle-checking drive. The documents of all the vehicles were checked, in which the documents of 19 vehicles were not found correct.
A fine of Rs 1, 26,750 was collected from a total of 19 vehicles (goods vehicles, highways, passenger vehicles, two-wheelers etc. The District Transport Officer said checking of vehicles will continue.
All vehicle owners/drivers to keep all vehicle-related documents up to date. He said, “Vehicles should be transported according to their loading capacity.” Praveen Prakash said,”Action will be taken against the overload of vehicles which have more than their capacity.”
