Ranchi: Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel at Ranchi Railway Station arrested two liquor smugglers and seized a large quantity of foreign-made alcohol from their possession. The accused, identified as Kanhaiya Kumar (19) and Avinash Kumar (18), are residents of Bathauli village under Barauni police station in Begusarai district of Bihar.
According to RPF officials, both men were caught in suspicious circumstances with backpacks on platform number one. During interrogation, they admitted to purchasing liquor in Ranchi and were on their way to Hathidah, Bihar, where they planned to sell it at higher prices.
Confirming the seizure, RPF Commandant Pawan Kumar said that security personnel remain vigilant against smuggling of prohibited items and human trafficking at Ranchi station. He added that special attention is being given to liquor smuggling in view of the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections and that strict surveillance will continue in the coming days.
