Ranchi: Governor Ramesh Bais inaugurated the three-day function organized on the occasion of the 22nd foundation day of the Jharkhand Assembly.
Extending best wishes on the foundation day of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly, the Governor said that it is the responsibility of all public representatives to keep the dignity and faith of democratic institutions intact. All people’s representatives should contribute to raising the prestige and dignity of the assembly the Governor said adding that the people’s representatives should always be sensitive to the responsibility of living up to the public’s trust.
For Jharkhand Vidhansabha to be named among the ideal Vidhansabhas of the country, every member will have to play an active role he said adding that all the members should rise above the party spirit and work.
On this occasion, Vidhansabha Speaker Rabindra Nath Mahto said that the parliamentary traditions that Jharkhand Vidhansabha has followed in the last 20 years have got recognition on the national stage as well.
He said that we will leave no stone unturned to fulfill the dreams of Jharkhand Navnirman which the forefathers had dreamed about. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Aalamgir Aalam and CPI-ML MLA Binod Kumar Singh, who was honoured with the award of Outstanding Legislator also addressed the function. Chief Minister Hemant Soren was present as the chief guest at the function.
Outstanding legislators, outstanding assembly personnel, martyred soldiers and policemen along with Shaurya Chakra awardees, military officers, sportspersons and students who secured the highest position in Matriculation- Inter were also felicitated at the function.
