Ranchi: On the occasion of Makar Sankranti, RBS Vedic Trust organised the distribution of ration and traditional food items at Apna Ghar Old Age Home located at Latma in Ranchi on Thursday.
Trust secretary Ranjana Shukla said essential items were distributed among more than two dozen elderly women residing at home. Materials included 30 kg rice, 10 kg wheat flour, 5 litres mustard oil, 5 kg chura, 5 kg sugar, 5 kg jaggery, along with lai, salt, tilkut and detergent for cleaning clothes.
Shukla said RBS Vedic Trust has been established in memory of late Ramsanwari Devi, whose fourth death anniversary was observed on January 15. She added that she is daughter-in-law of late Ramsanwari Devi and such social service activities are organised by trust every year on death anniversary.
She recalled that last year, on same occasion, food arrangements were made for underprivileged people near Jagannath Temple in Ranchi.
It is noteworthy that on November 2, 2025, Trust, in collaboration with Ranchi Press Club, organised Jharkhand Journalism Award 2025, under which five journalists were honoured with cash awards, while ten others received awards in different categories.
