Mumbai – Actress Raveena Tandon has shared that her daughter, Rasha Thadani, who is also an actress, has earned a First Dan rank in Taekwondo. Raveena affectionately refers to her daughter as her “Lakshmi.”
During a candid conversation with Farah Khan on the latter’s YouTube channel, Raveena gave viewers a tour of her eco-friendly home, which features furniture made from recycled wood. One of the highlights of the tour was a wall proudly displaying Rasha’s martial arts belts, including red, green, and black.
“She is a First Dan in Taekwondo. She’s officially a black belt,” Raveena said.
In martial arts, the First Dan rank signifies the beginning level of black belt, representing a foundational level of expertise and mastery.
Farah responded, “My children also practiced Judo, but I think they stopped after earning their Blue Belt.”
Raveena also shared a glimpse of her son Ranbir’s cherished autograph collection and vintage CDs. “These aren’t available anymore. I didn’t throw them away—I kept them. Kids today don’t even know what a CD is! Look, there’s even a Michael Jackson ‘Number Ones’ CD from 1947. And yes, there’s a CD player too,” she laughed.
While continuing the home tour, Raveena showed a framed impression of Rasha’s tiny footprints, mounted on the front door. “See my Lakshmi’s feet… Who’s my Lakshmi? Rasha. When a girl is born, it’s said that Lakshmi enters the house. Placing her footprints at the door is considered auspicious,” she explained.
Later in the conversation, Raveena fondly recalled a memory from her youth. “The first time I was ever allowed to go to a disco, it was with Farah,” she said with a smile.
