Ranchi: After a huge cache of fake liquor was seized from Oyana village under Pithoria Police Station area Ranchi SSP Surendra Kumar Jha has issued show-cause notice to officer incharge of three police stations.
Those who have been served notices in this connection included officer incharge of Ormanjhi, BIT and Pithoria. All of them have been asked to submit their replies as soon as possible. The trio has been accused that despite having concrete knowledge about the illegal trade within their areas these officers did not do anything.
Recently on the direction of the SSP a police team led by Rural SP Naushad Aalam had busted a fake liquor manufacturing gang in Oyana village of Pithoria where not only manufacturing but also labelling was being done. Later this liquor was being supplied through vehicles in Bihar, UP, Odisha, Haryana and other states. From the spot fake liquor worth Rs 30 lakh was seized. In course of investigation it emerged that since the gang had ‘managed’ the local police station therefore they were allowed to flourish.
