Ranchi Mob violence: Police arrests five, raids across 42 locations

Ranchi: Police has arrested five accused in the violence case that took place on the main road of Ranchi on Friday. At the same time till now there has been talk of raids in 42 places. Ranchi Police has so far arrested Mohammad Arif alias Rinku Khan, Belal Ansari, Mohammad Ashfaq, Mohammad Anish and Mohammad Danish Khan in this case.

Further it has also shared the details of six other named accused. They include Shahnawaz, Mohammad Usman, Mohammad Tabarak, Afsar Alam, Sarfaraz Alam and Savir Ansari. These accused are undergoing treatment due to their injuries.

On the other hand, a two-member inquiry committee constituted by Chief Minister Hemant Soren post the incident on Friday comprising Amitabh Kaushal, Secretary, Disaster Management Department, and ADG Operations Sanjay Anand Latkar on Monday evening both the officers reached near Hanuman temple on Main Road to investigate the incident.

During this, they also spoke to many police officers. Governor Ramesh Bais on Monday also summoned the DGP to the Raj Bhawan and collected information regarding the chain of the events and what measures so far the police had taken to bring the culprits to book.

Meanwhile, Ranchi Police has once again appealed to the people not to pay heed to any kind of rumour also upon receiving information about any kind of rumor people should immediately inform the nearest police station.

Police have urged people to maintain social harmony and do not believe any news without the confirmation of the district administration. An appeal has been made to the residents of Ranchi to cooperate with the police in maintaining peace and order in the society and show that they are responsible citizens.

At the same time, people should cooperate with the district administration in maintaining peace in the city.
