Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda is an inspiration for youth: Chief Minister

Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Sunday offered his tributes to Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda on his 118th birth anniversary.

The Chief Minister garlanded the portrait of Jaipal Singh Munda at his residence and paid his floral tributes. Speaking on the occasion he said that Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda had played a vital role in making of the constitution. He said that the entire state is proud of him as he made a separate identity for Jharkhand in the country and abroad.

Hemant Soren said that it was under Jaipal Singh Munda that India had won the first Olympic gold medal in hockey in 1928 and he helped the country get a separate identity in the world in the area of hockey.

He said that Jaipal Singh Munda had played an important role in the freedom struggle movement and had also laid the foundation for separate statehood movement.  He said that Jaipal Singh Munda was a renowned politician, writer, educationalist and great hockey player.

Hemant Soren said that Jaipal Singh Munda was the alone International hockey player who won the title of Oxford Blue in 1925. He said that there was a need to follow the path shown by him. The Chief Minister said that Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda is an inspiration for the youth of the state and the country.
