Ranchi Civil Surgeon has lost humanity, should resign if not able to work: HC

Ranchi: The Jharkhand High Court on Friday passed strong remarks over the functioning of Ranchi Civil Suregon and said that if his not able to do his work he should better resign and go.

While hearing the response of the Civil Surgeon in a suo moto cognisance case related to the poor management at RIMS Ranchi the court of Chief Justice Dr Ravi Ranjan and Justice SN Prasad said that the Civil Surgeon has lost humanity. It was pointed that the samples of the staff of the High Court had not been sent for tests for the last four days.

The court said that the samples were given on April 5 but so far they have not been tested. The court asked the Civil Surgeon as to what he was doing with the samples. The court mentioned that if this was the treatment being meted out to the HC staff what will be his behaviour with the common people.

The court informed the Health Secretary that due to negligence of the Civil Surgeon the samples are going waste and more than 80 percent samples have not been tested which can prove to be fatal for the people.

The court directed the Civil Surgeon to file a detailed affidavit by giving reply over all the issues and fixed Monday as next date of hearing during which it asked the Health Secretary, Director RIMS and Civil Surgeon Ranchi to be present via video conferencing.
