Ranchi: Ranchi bandh has been called by tribal organizations today after the murder of CPI (M) leader Subhash Munda. The effect of the bandh is visible in the areas around Ranchi and Ring Road. Tribal organizations have come out on the road to shut down Ranchi.
The body of Subhash Munda has been kept near Daladli Chowk after the post-mortem. His last rites will be performed at 12 noon. A large number of supporters have gathered near the dead body. The road has been blocked.
Some bandh supporters have reached Albert Ekka Chowk. Have sat there. The people of Kanke Sarna Samiti and All India Tribal Development Council blocked the road in Kanke Chowk with bamboo bats. There was a jam here for almost two hours.
Police reached around 11.30 am and got the Ranchi Patratu road vacated. Ranchi Gumla road has been blocked near Piska Nagdi railway crossing. On the other hand, strict steps are being taken by the administration in this murder case.
It is being told that even half an hour after the incident happened last night, the Nagdi police station was not aware of the incident. According to SSP Kishore Kaushal, Nagdi SHO has been grossly negligent regarding the incident. The police station has been suspended.
At present, Rohit Kumar of 2018 batch has been made SHO of Nagdi police station. The tribal organizations that have come on the road have given 12 hours’ time to the police administration. A demand has been made to arrest the killers within 12 hours. There are bandh supporters in many parts of Ranchi. People of tribal organizations are on the road in the Piska Nagri area.
Security has been strengthened in the entire city following the bandh call by tribal organisations. A team of SIT has also been constituted to investigate the matter. Bandh supporters have blocked the Ranchi Gumla main road near Naro Bazar Tand. On the other hand, some bandh supporters have also left for the Kanke block. There is also a plan to protest against the killing at Albert Ekka Chowk around 11 am.
On Wednesday night at 8:00 pm, unknown criminals killed leader Subhash Munda at the CPI (M) office in Daldali Chowk. He got seven bullets. After the murder, the accused absconded. The seriously injured Munda was rushed to Ranchi Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Angry locals and supporters of Munda went on a rampage in the area. Liquor shop set on fire. Started vandalizing nearby vehicles. The police administration somehow pacified the matter.
