Ranchi: Due to the change in the weather pattern in the state the mercury has already dropped due to which people have got relief from the scorching heat.
The Meteorological Department in its forecast has said that till May 13, there is a possibility of rain in different areas of Jharkhand. During this, there may also be thunderstorms. On May 11, a warning has been issued in the south, east-central and northeastern parts of the state regarding thunderstorms at some places.
During this, the wind speed can be up to 30 to 40 kmph. People in the state have gotten relief from the heat for the past one week and after being sunny during the day, the weather is changing by evening during which sometimes it rains with clouds and strong wind. The maximum temperature of most of the districts of Jharkhand is running below 40 degree celsius.
The MET has issued a warning of thunderstorms and lightning at isolated places in the south, east-central and northeastern parts of the state on May 11. The maximum temperature of all the districts is expected to remain between 35 to 37 degrees.
Moreover, an alert regarding cyclonic storm ‘Asani’ has been also issued. In view of this storm, rain may occur in some districts of West Bengal from Tuesday to Friday. It may also affect some parts of Jharkhand.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the storm hovering in the Bay of Bengal is expected to turn into a cyclone on Sunday evening having a speed of 75 kmph.
