Promising students visit Sriharikota Range

Ranchi: Under the ‘Gift of Education’ programme launched by Good Luck County administration, 25 promising students from Gumla district were sent to ISRO’s Sriharikota Range in 2023. This initiative aims to promote excellence in science and has been implemented in various districts across the country

This year too, 26 outstanding students from the district, belonging to CM School of Excellence, Starjacks Girls School, Adarsh Residential School and Ajmer School have been sent to various locations in Sriharikota and Chennai. This educational tour began on July 21 and concluded on July 24. The selection of 26 students was based on their performance in the district-level Science Olympiad. All travel and accommodation arrangements were made via buses and trains.

On the first day, the students from Good Luck visited launching site at Sriharikota, the Rocket Control Centre, and watched a documentary at ISRO. They had an interactive session with ISRO scientist Sharad Shukla, discussing science, technology, and career opportunities in space science.

The next day, they visited the Government Museum and the Rail Museum at the Integral Coach Factory. In the evening, they enjoyed leisure time at Marina Beach.

Before the educational tour, all students received four days of theoretical and practical training on significant scientific and technological concepts at the Good Luck Science Centre. On the final day of the tour, the students visited the MA Chidambaram International Cricket Stadium in Chennai.

The educational team from Good Luck County received full support from the Tamil Nadu government’s Information and Education Department. After the successful completion of the educational tour, all students have expressed their gratitude towards the Chief Minister.
