Ranchi: State’s Agriculture Minister Badal on Friday said that the welfare schemes being run by the Central and State Governments for the farmers should be completed in time so that they can get the benefits of the schemes.
Reviewing the work being done by the Agriculture Department in Palamu Division through a video conferencing at Nepal House he said that to bring these plans on the ground, the officials should complete the plans using different means and ways.
Badal directed the officers to expedite the selection of beneficiaries under the Agriculture Loan Waiver Scheme so that loans of maximum farmers can be waived off. He directed that this work should be completed by running a campaign.
He said that the information about the schemes being run by the government should reach the farmers so efforts should be accordingly made. He asked the officials to provide information about the schemes in each block for which there is a need to identify the major places of the block and by putting hoardings and posters information should be given about the important schemes being run by the government for the farmers. He suggested that by writing on the walls of the buildings of the agriculture departments at the district, divisional and block level, one can give information about the schemes.
The Agriculture Minister said that alongwith following the guidelines of Covid with the cooperation of local artists, people can also be informed about the schemes through street plays as with this kind of publicity, more and more farmers will be able to take advantage of the schemes.
In the review meeting, the Agriculture Minister said that the work of seed distribution should be ensured in time. He said that the seed distribution work should be done keeping in mind the demand of seeds in the divisions where demand is high. It was told in the meeting that 7 pulse mills would be set up in Latehar, 8 in Palamu and 7 in Garhwa. The Agriculture Minister directed the Deputy Commissioner of Palamu that the pulses of Palamu are famous they should reach abroad and the department will provide full help in this work.
The minister said that KCC cards are to be made for all the farmers of the state. He directed all the Deputy Commissioners of Palamu Division to ensure that all farmers in Palamu Division have get KCC cards. He asked the officials to talk with the banks for this work and instruct them to expedite this work as soon as possible.
