Ranchi: In the coming days, the people of Ranchi will also be able to travel directly from Ranchi to Varanasi, Ayodhya, Rishikesh, and Haridwar. GM of East-Central Railway Anupam Sharma has agreed to run the Sutlej Express train running from Dhanbad via Ranchi. He assured to take the initiative on the proposal of Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth. Make a proposal and send it to the Railway Board, so that it gets stamped from there.
The GM was holding a meeting with the Ranchi MP and other railway officers on Saturday. In the meeting, it was also agreed to run passenger trains for the students of Ranchi to Bokaro and Dhanbad. Apart from this, a discussion was also held on running a train to the tourist places of Jharkhand, Rajrappa, Deoghar, Parasnath and other religious places.
The MP has also asked the GM to make a proposal and send it to the Ministry of Railways and tell them that BIT Mesra, Barkakana, McCluskiganj, Khalari and Rai stations should be removed from Dhanbad and included under Ranchi Rail Division. This is because Ranchi, being the closest, can provide better passenger amenities at these stations.
On the other hand, keeping in view the increasing crowd in Ranchi, Barkakana station should be developed as a satellite station. It has been agreed to stop the Ranchi Garib Rath train and Swarna Jayanti Express at Khalari railway station. With this, the way was cleared for the construction of ROB near Khalari station.
The MP said that the entire expenditure will be borne by the Railways. DPR (Detailed Project Report) has been prepared. Work will start soon. DRUCC members meeting was held at the DRM office. In this, demands were made to run city buses from Ranchi and Hatia station, extension of Ranchi-Chopan Express train to Prayagraj, operation of Ranchi-Howrah (Via Purulia) Vande Bharat train and improvement in bedroll condition etc.
