Poultry farmers will get compensation for chickens that died of bird flu: Badal

Ranchi: Regarding the death of chickens due to bird flu in Bokaro Agriculture Minister Badal said that in recent times information about the death of chickens had come from the Bokaro district.

He said that the samples of dead chickens were sent by the department to the Kolkata and Bhopal laboratories identified by the Government of India for testing.

From there the death of chickens has been confirmed due to bird flu. Badal said that bird flu is a deadly, contagious viral disease occurring in chickens and domestic birds and there is a risk of infection in humans as well, but so far no case of infection in humans has been reported in the state.

Therefore, taking action to control the disease under the action plan set by the Government of India under Bokaro district, the department has scientifically disposed of all the chickens in a radius of 1 kilometer from the place of the spread of the disease.

The process of giving compensation to poultry farmers whose chickens have been disposed of is under process. At present, the situation in Bokaro is completely under control and no new case has come to light. No person there has been infected with this disease so far.

The Agriculture Minister said that on Saturday bird flu has also been confirmed in Ranchi. As soon as the information is received, action is being taken as per the prescribed procedure. Therefore, there is no need for common citizens to panic because of this. The government is making every effort to control the disease at its level.

There is an appeal to the common people to celebrate the upcoming Holi festival with enthusiasm and without any fear.
