PDS dealers’ strike to continue

Ranchi: Distribution of ration has come to a standstill in the state due to the indefinite strike of the PDS Dealers Association.

There was a meeting of the PDS Dealers Association with Food Supply Department Secretary Amitabh Kaushal.

However, due to a lack of satisfactory assurance from the department on the demands of the association, the association has decided to continue the strike.

There are 25400 PDS dealers in the state, through which the government distributes ration.

Due to the strike of PDS dealers, the poor are not getting ration.

The number of Antyodaya ration cards in the state is 892488, out of which the number of family members is 3449144.

Whereas the number of PHH ration cards is 5211687, out of which the number of family members is 22976241.

In the PHH ration card, 4 kg rice and 1 kg wheat per member is available per month.

While the number in the green ration card is 484476, the number of family members in it is 1509715.
