No Impact of Bharat Bandh Called by Adivasi Sengel Abhiyan

Ranchi: There was no impact Bharat Bandh called by the Adivasi Sengel Abhiyan on Thursday regarding the seven-point demands.

Sengel workers under the leadership of Salkhan Murmu demonstrated and blocked the road, and stopped the railway in favour of Sarana Dharm Code. Bandh have little in Bardhaman, South Dinajpur, Hugli, Malda, Purulia, Jhargram in West Bengal.

National Highway was blocked in Mayurbhanj, Joshipur, Bangiposi, Suryapada, and Keonjhar in Odisha. NH was also blocked in Kishanganj district in Bihar. Tribals staged a protest against the State and Union Government and demanded a seven-point agenda. Tribals also blocked roads in the Kokrajhar and Chirang districts of the North East State of Assam.

Seven Point Demands are as follows- Implementation of the Nature Worshiping Religion (Sarna Dharma) code under Article 25 To give Santali the status of the first official language in Jharkhand. Not to give Scheduled Tribe status to Kurmi.To establish “Abua Dishoom, Abua Raj” in Jharkhand.

To give Scheduled Tribe status to Jharkhandi tribals. Assam-Andaman and tribal Self-governance systems (Majhi, Pargana, Manki-Munda etc.) include democratic and constitutional reforms.
