Ranchi: The investigation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has revealed that Vijay Arya, known as Gandhi of Naxalites, was busy in connecting the former cadre of CPI Maoist organization. NIA has filed the second supplementary charge sheet against both the Naxalites before the special NIA court in Ranchi.
Investigation revealed that Vijay Kumar Arya was a Central Committee member of CPI Maoist, while Anand Paswan was a key supporter and former cadre of the banned organization. Vijay was found involved in motivating former cadres. At the same time, he was also working as a medium between the workers of the organization and other stakeholders of Maoist’s Magadha region in Jharkhand-Bihar.
Anandi Paswan was arrested on 23 June 2023. Vijay Kumar Arya was arrested by Bihar Police from Rohtas police station area on 14 April 2022. Since then he was lodged in Beur jail of Patna. Hazaribagh Police had arrested Pradyuman Sharma on 20 August 2021.
After this, taking suo motu cognizance of this, the Ranchi branch of NIA took over the case on 30 December 2021. Since then the NIA has been investigating the entire matter.
During the investigation, NIA had received information that the money from Vijay Arya terror funding was reaching Pradyuman Sharma and his associates. After being released from jail in 2018, Vijay Arya, one of the top Naxalite commanders, was given the responsibility of strengthening the organization in many areas of Jharkhand and Bihar.
According to the information, he had got the responsibility of activating the Chalho sub zone (areas of Gaya, Aurangabad and Palamu) of Maoists. Maoists had become very weak in this zone after 2005. Vijay Arya is a resident of Gaya, Bihar.
In the year 2018-19, a big meeting of Maoists was held in Chhakarbandha. Maoist Prashant Bose, carrying a bounty of Rs 1 crore, had participated in this meeting. In this meeting, Vijay Arya was given the responsibility of strengthening the Maoists in many areas.
