Mumbai: Actress Mouni Roy has described her character Mahek in filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar’s upcoming movie The Wives as one of the most unconventional and intense roles she has portrayed in her career.
Sharing behind-the-scenes pictures from the film’s shoot on her official Instagram account, Mouni expressed her excitement and emotional connection with the project. She stated that completing the film marks a special milestone and added that The Wives would remain one of her most cherished works.
Expressing gratitude to director Madhur Bhandarkar, Mouni thanked him for placing his trust in her to portray Mahek, calling the role one of the most unusual and challenging characters she has played so far.
The actress also praised her co-stars, including Sonali Kulkarni, Regina Cassandra, Rahul Bhatt, Saurabh Sachdeva, Arjan Bajwa, and Freddy Daruvala, appreciating their support and camaraderie during the filming. She hinted that the movie will soon be released in theatres.
Responding to Mouni’s post, Bhandarkar said he enjoyed working with her and expressed confidence that her portrayal of Mahek would surprise audiences and fans.
Earlier, the filmmaker announced the completion of the film’s shooting schedule through a social media post, revealing that The Wives, his 16th film, explores the glamorous yet complex world of star wives. He thanked the cast, crew, and production teams of Bhandarkar Entertainment and PJ Motion Pictures for their dedication in bringing the project to life.
The Wives is jointly produced by Bhandarkar Entertainment and PJ Motion Pictures.
