Martyrs and their dependents to get full respect & rights: Hemant Soren

Saraikela: Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Saturday paid tributes to the martyrs of Kharsawan by laying a wreath at the martyr’s memorial at Kerse Munda Chowk and Martyrs Memorial (Shaheed Bedi) at Shaheed Park in Kharsawan under Seraikela-Kharsawan district.

The Chief Minister said that Jharkhand has always been the land of heroes and martyrs. He said that countless heroes here have given their martyrdom for the sake of the state and the country. The names of many such martyrs are recorded in the pages of history, while many are still anonymous he said adding the government is trying to give respect and rights to their dependents by identifying other anonymous martyrs including those who lost their lives in Kharsawan shooting incident.

The Chief Minister said that on January 1 every year as per the tradition a large number of people come here to pay homage and tribute to the brave martyrs of Kharsawan firing and the tradition has been going on for years. He said that people should be aware of the heroic saga of these martyrs and this should be based from generation to generation. He said that the Shaheed Park built-in memory of the brave martyrs of the Kharsawan shooting incident will be developed as a tourist spot and for this, the state government has approved Rs 16 crore. Apart from the beautification of Shaheed Park with this amount, many facilities including multipurpose buildings will be constructed here.

Hemant Soren said that the government is providing pensions and other facilities to the martyrs of the state and their dependents who gave their all fighting for a separate state. He said that the kin of the martyrs will get their full rights and rights in this connection, the government has taken a very important decision of giving five percent horizontal reservation in government jobs to the dependents of great martyrs of Jharkhand.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister greeted and congratulated the people of the state for the New Year. Ministers Champai Soren, Joba Manjhi and Banna Gupta, former Chief Minister Madhu Koda, MP Geeta Koda and also paid tributes at Shaheed Bedi.
