Maaiyan Samman ceremony to be held on Jan 6

Ranchi: The much-awaited Chief Minister Maaiyan Samman Ceremony will be held on January 6, during which Chief Minister Hemant Soren will release the next installment of the scheme. Under this initiative, approximately 56 lakh women across the state will receive ₹2,500 in their bank accounts. The event is expected to see the participation of nearly three lakh women and will take place at Khoja Toli Maidan in Namkum.

The ceremony, originally scheduled for December 28, was postponed due to the state mourning the death of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. The government had declared seven days of state mourning following his passing, which led to the event’s delay. However, as a test run, ₹2,500 was transferred to the accounts of women in every district on December 26-27.
