Light to moderate thundershower alert over Jharkhand

Ranchi: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre has issued a forecast of light to moderate thundershowers alert over isolated parts of Jharkhand today. Weathermen said a low-pressure trough was running from the northeast Arabian Sea to northeast Rajasthan across Gujarat extending up to 3.1 km above mean sea level.

The trough would trigger a cyclonic circulation which is expected to result in a good shower show over the state after the next 24 hours or so, the weatherman said.

The southwest monsoon will take some more time to withdraw from the state. Statistics released by Ranchi Met Centre revealed that Jharkhand experienced good rainfall in the month of October. Against a normal of 38 mm, the state has so far received 51 mm, resulting in a surplus of 34 mm.
