Ranchi: The bail application of former Ranchi DC Chhavi Ranjan, accused in the land scam, was heard on Friday in the Ranchi PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act) Special Court. During this time, a request was made by the ED to give time to file its reply, which the court accepted and fixed November 2 for the next hearing.
Special public prosecutor Ramit Satyendra argued on behalf of ED. High Court advocate Abhishek Chaudhary argued on behalf of Chhavi Ranjan. ED is investigating two cases related to land scams in Ranchi.
Chhavi Ranjan has been made an accused in both cases. At present, the case in which he has filed the bail application is a case of purchase and sale of land in Cheshire Home Road with the help of fake documents.
