Lalu Yadav has been accorded statue of state level guest alleges BJP

Ranchi: State BJP spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo alleged that jailed former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav has been accorded the status of a state-level guest by the government.

Addressing a press conference on Sunday he said that the Kely Bungalow where the RJD supremo has been kept has emerged as the main election office of the RJD where a large number of people are turning up to meet Mr. Yadav and after meeting him they claim that they had come on a courtesy meeting.

Pratul did that jail manual and legal provisions have all been set aside to felicitate meeting of leaders and ticket aspirants with the RJD supremo. He further said that statement of the Jail IG that the Bungalow can not be considered a jail was baseless as the High Court in its order dated August 24, 2018 had said that Mr Yadav should be provided treatment at RIMS under custody.

He said that as per the provisions of the Jail Act 1984 section 3 (I) any place can be a jail where a convict has been kept for short term therefore technically Mr Yadav is under custody and all the provisions of the jail manual would be implacable on him.
