Lalu Yadav approaches court for release of passport

Ranchi: RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav has approached the CBI court urging to release his passport which will enable him to travel abroad for his treatment. He has filed a petition through his advocate Anant Kumar Vij for the release of his passport.

Admitting the petition, the court has asked the CBI to file an affidavit in the matter. The court has fixed September 16 for the next hearing.

According to sources, the RJD chief requires a passport to go to Singapore for his kidney treatment and his appointment is fixed in a Singapore-based hospital on September 24.

It is for the second time the RJD chief has requested to release his passport, which is in the possession of the court after his conviction in multiple cases of fodder scam. Earlier on June 14, the special court of Ranchi CBI ordered the release of Yadav’s passport for its renewal.
