Lalu Prasad seeks bail from Jharkhand High Court

Ranchi (IANS): Former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD president  Lalu Prasad lawyer on Monday filed reply in Jharkhand High Court and sought bail for him.

Devarshi Mandal lawyer of Lalu Prasad filed reply in the court. In his reply Lalu lawyer has argued that his client has completed half of the  sentence period in jail and he should be granted bail.  In the reply, it has been pleaded that Lalu Praasd  has served sentence of 42 months and 23 days in jail which half of the period of the seven years jail.

In the petition it has been argued for earliest hearing of the bail petition of Lalu Prasad. The bail reply has been in Dumka treasury fraudulent case in which he has been awarded seven years two jail term.

The CBI sources says the there are two seven years subsequent jail term which counts to 14 years. The CBI may oppose the bail on the same ground.

If Lalu Praasad gets bail in Dumka treasury case he will come out from jail. Lalu Yadav has been convicted in four fodder scam cases and he has been awarded upto 14 years jail term.

At present Lalu Prasad is undergoing treatment in AIMMS New Delhi.
