Khunti: An IAS officer posted in the Khunti district was on Tuesday taken into custody after charges of sexual harassment were registered against him. Sayed Riyaz Ahmed who is posted as SDM in the Khunti district has been accused by a student of IIT Mandi who had come for an internship of sexual harassment.
The girl also filed her complaint at the women’s police station after which the SDM was taken into custody for questioning. In her complaint, the girl stated that the officer had tried to kiss her and had also made attempts to sexually harass her.
Khunti SP Aman Kumar said that on the evening of July 4 the complaint was registered by the girl after which the IAS officer has been taken into custody and is being questioned. He said that the statement of the girl has been taken and she would be also sent for medical.
