Judge Killing: Jharkhand HC rejects theory of CBI

Ranchi: The Jharkhand High Court on Friday rejected the theory of the CBI presented before the court in connection with the killing of ADJ Uttam Anand. The court of justice Dr Ravi Ranjan and Justice SN Prasad while hearing the case made the Additional Solicitor General SB Raju who had appeared on behalf of the CBI go through the CCTV footage of the incident. The court later also asked many questions to the Additional Solicitor General which he failed to come up satisfactory response.

The court commented that the incident has turned into a man behind a machine. It said that there was no truth in the theory of mobile loot as being put forward by the CBI and there was no substance in the theory. The court said that if one would look at the CCTV footage it will be clear that the case is a planned murder.

The court said that had it been an issue of mobile loot the culprits would have got down from the autorickshaw, taken the mobile and left which did not happen on the spot. Adding further the court said that after hitting the judge the tempo did not stop therefore there was no truth in the theory of the CBI. The court said that it was not satisfied with the progress of the CBI probe.

The bench said that there is a larger conspiracy in the case and the conspirators were hiding behind and it appears that attempts are being made to divert the case and both the arrested culprits are just pawns. The court directed the CBI to submit all the records of the probe including reports related to narco tests and brain mapping of the accused in sealed envelopes before the court and fixed January 21 as the next date of hearing in the case.
