JMM seeks details of Rs 20 lakh crore economic package

Ranchi: The ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has sought details from the Centre over the Rs 20 lakh core package announced for the betterment of the economy hit adversely due to Coronavirus.

Party general secretary and spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya on Saturday demanded answers as to how the GDP went down by 24 percent despite such a big economic package and why 14 crore people became unemployed. He also sought answers over the rising prices of everyday commodities including fruits and vegetables.

Bhattacharya said that when the Prime Minister had announced for the economic package worth Rs 20 lakh crore on May 12 a smile came on the faces of the people, further when the slogan of vocal for local was given people were full of belief that their prosperity can not be stopped.

But what has happened now is before everyone to see he said adding that after the essential commodities act was removed prices of foodgrains, fruits and vegetables have increased. He said that the Centre should share details of the economic package and tell how much loan was given to the MSMEs sector and which Industry in Jharkhand got how much loan.

Attacking the leader of the legislature wing of BJP Babulal Marandi he said that he was not aware whether Marandi was in BJP or JVM-P as by changing his party he had cheated the people of Dhanwar and claimed that the people of Dumka would teach a lesson to him if he decided to contest the bypolls from the seat.
