Jharkhand Weather to Remain Unsettled for the Next Week; Rain, Thunderstorms and Lightning Alert Issued for Several Districts

Ranchi: Weather conditions in Jharkhand continue to fluctuate, with some areas experiencing intense heat and humidity while others receive relief through rain and hailstorms. According to the Meteorological Department, this changing weather pattern is likely to persist across the state for at least the next week.

On Monday, the weather changed abruptly in several areas, including the state capital Ranchi. Strong winds accompanied by rainfall swept through the region, while hail was also reported at a few locations. The showers brought much-needed relief from the scorching heat. However, several other districts continued to experience hot and humid conditions throughout the day.

Impact of Cyclonic Systems

Weather experts attribute the unstable conditions to a cyclonic circulation over Jharkhand, Odisha, and West Bengal, along with another active cyclonic system over Chhattisgarh. These systems are creating varying weather conditions across the state, resulting in a mix of sunshine, cloud cover, rainfall, and thunderstorms.

Rainfall Likely in Southern and Central Districts

The Meteorological Department has forecast thunderstorms and rain at several places in the southern and central parts of the state on June 2 and 3. Strong winds with speeds of 40–50 kmph are also expected during this period. There is a possibility of lightning strikes in some areas as well.

Residents have been advised to remain cautious during adverse weather conditions and avoid open fields, trees, and electric poles during thunderstorms.

Rain May Continue on June 4 and 5

According to the forecast, partly cloudy skies are likely to prevail on June 4 and 5. Light to moderate rainfall may occur at isolated places in the northeastern and central regions of the state. The rain is expected to bring a slight drop in temperatures, providing some relief from the prevailing heat.

Advisory for Farmers and Residents

The Meteorological Department has urged farmers to closely monitor weather updates and plan agricultural activities accordingly. Residents have also been advised to stay in safe locations during thunderstorms, heavy rain, and lightning events, and to avoid venturing into open areas.

Weather Department Warning

People are advised to remain alert during periods of strong winds, thunderstorms, lightning, and rainfall, and to follow safety precautions to minimize risks.
