Jharkhand police registers 953 FIRs, arrests 1979 for lockdown violation

Ranchi, Apr 20 : The Jharkhand Police has so far registered 953 FIRs and has arrested 1979 culprits for lockdown violation.

    As per the data provided by the state police headquarters till Monday 953 FIRs have been registered in the state against 4101 cases of lockdown violation in which 1979 culprits have been arrested.

   The maximum number of FIRs has been registered at Ranchi at 169 followed by Palamu 106. However, the maximum number of people arrested stood at 800 in Jamshedpur and 282 in Chaibasa.

    For Hate crime and rumor-mongering, a total of 108 FIRs have been registered across the state against 182 named accused out of which 93 have been arrested.

  A maximum number of FIRs have been registered at Palamu district with numbers standing at 16 followed by Ranchi 12 and Dhanbad and Bokaro 9 each.

  As far as arrests were concerned a maximum number of 10 culprits have been arrested in Latehar while in Palamu and Chatra 9 each and Dhanbad 8 culprits have been arrested.
