Ranchi: Contractual Home Guard Jawans from Jharkhand Police around 2000 to 2500 in numbers stage a protest rally against Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren over increasing Salary and Permanent Jobs.

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren in his party Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) promised in his election manifesto to felicitate Home Guard Jawans with Permanent Jobs and increment in their salary.

Rajiv Tiwari from Home Guard Jawans Welfare Association participated with thousands of other jawans demanding permanent jobs and increments in salary on the way to Morhabadi Grounds to Raj Bhavan in Ranchi on Monday.

Jawans from Saraikela – Kharsawan, Latehar, Ramgarh, and other districts of Jharkhand arrived at Morhabadi Grounds on Monday Morning to take part in Protest Rally.

After 3 Years of JMM-led government CM Hemant Soren did not look up our matters, said Rajiv Tiwari.

Latehar District Company Commander demanded ₹ 20, 000 from Aniket Sharan for his recruitment in Jharkhand Police Home Guard Association, Rajiv Tiwari added.

We have audio recording proof and submitted a complaint letter to the  Officials of Vigilance, Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, Latehar Superintendent of Police, and Deputy Superintendent of Police but no one is interested, Rajiv Tiwari said.

Another incident in Ramgarh district where a person named Umesh and he was asked to give ₹ 50, 000 for his recruitment in the company.

We have been paid ₹ 500 per day for our service and a lump sum of ₹ 15000 is being received by us at the end of the month, we are demanding an increase in salary in this inflationary era, as we are economically backward.

Today we have 19000 Home Guard Jawans around the Jharkhand State in which 5000 Jawans are women who are posted at Banks, Police Stations, Residence of High ranking Government Officials and they are engaged in Household work and allied activities.

Inspector General of Police (IG) or Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) like officials exploit them.

Tomorrow at 10 AM in Project Building, Jharkhand Secretariat we have a meeting with Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and will submit a memorandum for our demand including permanent jobs and an increase in salary, if the discussion fails we will go for statewide Strike said Rajiv Tiwari.
