Jharkhand moves towards a secure public health delivery system

Ranchi: The government of Jharkhand is committed itself to secure the health of the state’s citizens.

Chief Minister  Hemant Soren has always been instructing officials to ensure better health care facilities for the people of the state. The instructions and different measures are now yielding positive results. Major initiatives taken in this  direction include the establishment of modern trauma centres, up-gradation of the Shaheed Nirmal Mahto Medical College and hospital in Dhanbad, MGM medical college and hospital in Jamshedpur along with other divisional hospitals.

An important initiative that was recently launched at the Sadar Hospital in Dhanbad is the online hospital management system. Developed by DMFT PMU team and DCIP interns, the initiative will not only facilitate the patients with ease of treatment but also help the government to keep the health history of admitted patients.

The newly constructed building of Sadar Hospital Dhanbad has been notified as a centre with modern medical facilities. To achieve improved outcomes, the government has appointed medical officers, paramedical staff, and other hospital workers at Sadar Hospital Dhanbad. Further, to ease the process of check-up appointments, an Online Health Management System has been initiated at the hospital.

This health management system is equipped with login facilities for both, the patients, and the hospital staff. By logging into the health management system website, one can easily book an appointment with the available doctors as per the requirements of the patient. This has helped reduce the unnecessary gathering and overcrowding at the hospital. Earlier, people coming from far-off areas of the district used to face difficulty in accessing regular treatment due to the lack of information.

With the help of this health management system, one can check for the availability of doctors in the hospital and schedule an appointment with them by registering online through the portal. Apart from this, the availability of blood in the blood bank is also made available with regular updates.

If a patient books an appointment through the online registration portal, his/her health information, such as, treatment report, test reports, surgery, prescriptions, medicine details get regularly updated on the website, this information can be accessed by the patient and hospital management. The government plans to add other government hospitals of the district to the existing system.

After the implementation of the Online health management system, the administration is also witnessing improved efficiency of the hospital staff as the system is also being used to assign duty hours/ schedule to the workforce. People coming for the treatment at the Sadar Hospital Dhanbad are also appreciating this positive effort by the government.

To get the appointment or other information related to the Sadar Hospital, one can visit “hospital.egovdhn.in”. By entering Name, Email ID, Mobile Number, Date of Birth, Age and Blood group, one can easily sign up on the website. After signing up, using the same email ID,  one can log in to the website for any further information related to the government hospitals and book appointments for the treatment.
