Jharkhand Liquor Scam: Non-Bailable Warrant Issued Against Auto Dealer Vinay Singh

Ranchi: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), which is currently probing the Jharkhand liquor scam, has secured a non-bailable warrant against Vinay Singh, a well-known automobile dealer from Ranchi and a close aide of senior IAS officer Vinay Choubey.

According to sources, the investigating officer in Case No. 9/2025 filed a plea through the ACB’s Special Public Prosecutor requesting Singh’s arrest. The court accepted the plea and issued the non-bailable warrant.

With the warrant now issued, legal pressure on Vinay Singh has escalated. The ACB has intensified its search operations to locate him, and his arrest is expected soon. Earlier, Singh was served a notice by the ACB to appear for questioning, but he failed to comply.

Vinay Singh is the owner of Nexgen, a prominent car dealership in Ranchi. Notably, last year, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had also raided his premises in connection with the Chhattisgarh liquor scam.

The ACB’s probe into the Jharkhand liquor scam has already led to several high-profile arrests, including that of IAS officer Vinay Choubey and Excise Department’s Joint Commissioner Gajendra Singh. A total of five arrests have been made so far, and a separate investigation is ongoing into Choubey’s alleged disproportionate assets.
