Jharkhand: Hemant Soren govt marks first anniversary with a record recruitment drive

Ranchi — The Hemant Soren-led Jharkhand government will celebrate the first anniversary of its second term on November 28 by offering government jobs to almost 10,000 youth during a large-scale programme at Ranchi’s Morabadi Ground.

Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar visited the Chief Minister on Thursday to extend a formal invitation.

In a social media post, Soren highlighted his administration’s focus on youth-oriented development. “On November 28, nearly 10,000 young people will receive appointment letters. We are committed to creating employment and expanding self-employment opportunities. Jharkhand is consistently moving towards a prosperous 2050,” he said.

He reiterated that governance in Jharkhand is designed around the needs of rural communities. “Our government operates from the villages. The ‘Government at Your Doorstep’ programme is in full swing. Officials have been asked to ensure timely access to rights and welfare services. This year, we also initiated ‘Right to Service Week’ to extend governance to every home,” he added.

Extensive arrangements have been made at Morabadi Ground, where a massive stage and seating for almost 10,000 participants have been readied. Candidate lists have been finalised and intimation has been sent to all beneficiaries.

The Education Department will see the largest intake, with 8,000 assistant teachers appointed across primary and middle schools. These include educators for Classes 1–5 along with subject teachers in languages, maths, science, and social sciences.

Appointment letters will also be distributed to 207 Deputy Collectors, 35 Deputy SPs, 56 State Tax Officers, 2 Jail Superintendents, 10 Category-II Education Service officers, 8 Assistant Registrars, 14 Labour Superintendents, 6 Probation Officers, 3 Production Inspectors, 1 District Superintendent, and 150 Entomologists.

The event will also mark the conclusion of Jharkhand’s Silver Jubilee celebrations, which began on November 11 to commemorate 25 years of statehood.
