‘I Love India, I Love Modi’: Trump Signals Possible Visit in Message at India Today Conclave

New Delhi: A message from Donald Trump expressing admiration for India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi was read out at the India Today Conclave 2026 on Saturday by American political activist Laura Loomer.

Addressing the gathering, Loomer said she had spoken with Trump shortly before taking the stage and shared what she described as his message to the people of India.

“I spoke to President Trump on the phone about an hour ago. He asked me to convey this message: ‘I love India. Please tell them I love Modi and the Indian people. Prime Minister Modi is a fantastic leader and a good friend of mine. Let the people of India know that I will come to India again someday soon,’” Loomer told the audience.

The statement attracted attention at the conclave, where discussions focused on global politics and international relations. Loomer also reiterated that Trump considers Modi a close ally and highlighted the strong personal rapport between the two leaders.

The relationship between Trump and Modi has been marked by several high-profile public appearances and diplomatic engagements. One of the most notable moments was during Trump’s 2020 visit to India, when he joined Modi at the massive Namaste Trump gathering in Ahmedabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium, where both leaders addressed tens of thousands of supporters.

Over the years, the two leaders have frequently praised each other publicly while emphasising stronger cooperation between the United States and India in areas such as trade, defence and strategic partnerships.

Loomer, known as a prominent supporter of Trump and a vocal figure within the MAGA movement, has often attracted attention for her outspoken views on immigration and international politics.

Her remarks at the conclave once again highlighted the close personal ties between Trump and Modi, while also fuelling speculation about a possible future visit by the former US President to India.
