Ranchi: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) Spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya addressed a press conference and attacked BJP and Home Minister Amit Shah’s role in the injustice done with the Women Wrestlers. He said “ Will the chargesheet be filed on June 15 or else the accused BJP MP will be glorified”.
He added Delhi Police has become the mental slave of BJP. Does any woman make video recordings of sexual abuse? JMM has strongly objected to Delhi Police asking for evidence of sexual and physical abuse from women wrestlers.
JMM’s Supriyo Bhattacharya said in a press conference organized at the party office on Tuesday that will any woman make a video recording of her physical or sexual abuse? Women wrestlers have clearly told everything in their FIRs about how they were physically abused. Where was it touched? Which parts of the body were touched?
In the Indian society, any woman scare about telling physical and sexual abuse to her father and even to her mother. The Delhi Police asks for evidence from those women. Either the Delhi Police has become a mental slave of the BJP or has become a victim of mental bankruptcy.
Home Minister should present his side on the action of Delhi Police Bhattacharya said that the BJP and its Home Minister, who gave the slogan of Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, have said that the law will take its own course. Since the chart sheet is to be framed by the Delhi Police on 15th June.
Before this, what does the saying of such things by the Delhi Police indicate? On the day of the inauguration of the new parliament building, when women wrestlers were going to protest for their rights, they were beaten, dragged, misbehaved.
After this the Home Minister called the wrestlers and held talks. The Home Minister said that the law will take its course. Immediately after this, the Sports Minister also called the wrestlers. Now the Home Minister should tell what his police are doing.
Will the chart sheet be framed on 15th or will the BJP MP accused of misconduct be glorified. Justice not yet served Bhattacharya said that this matter has been going on since January. Nothing happened even after protesting.
After this the women wrestlers went to the Supreme Court. Following the directions of the Supreme Court, an FIR was registered against BJP’s Dabang MP Brij Bhushan Singh. The POCSO Act was imposed on him.
The arrest of the accused should have taken place immediately after the enactment of the Act. But till now no arrest has been made. Now Delhi Police is asking for evidence from women wrestlers. The female wrestler, who has made the country proud for six months, is agitating for her rights.
In this country women are worshiped as Goddess Shakti, in the same country BJP people should also present their side on such behaviour with women.
